Postdoctoral opportunities
- We do not have funded positions available at present – if and when we do, they will be advertised on the Department's website. Please do not send formal applications via email; they need to be submitted as described in the advert.
- We are able to support a limited number of applicants for individual postdoctoral fellowships (for example, Marie-Curie Individual Fellowships). Those are personal grants for a project of your own design that is hosted within the research group. Developing strong proposals takes time – please get in touch with Volker well in advance of your funder's deadline.

There are two principal routes for joining the group for doctoral research at present:
Part II opportunities
We typically offer up to four places for Part II research to current Oxford students. If you are in your third year and curious about our science, please do contact Volker during early Hilary term to discuss. You do not need to have experience with machine learning, but you should be open to learning some level of coding skills during your time in the group. And even more importantly, you should share our interest in the structures of materials!
