Theme II: Structural chemistry of the amorphous state
We have a fundamental interest in the nature of amorphous (non-crystalline) solids. We use MLIPs to create structural models, and chemical concepts to understand them.
We have pioneered device-scale atomistic simulations to understand connections of structure, properties, and function in amorphous materials. Current areas of interest include batteries, solar cells, digital memories, and more.
